Gypsum Wallboard Repairs
Nail holes are a common problem. Whenever a nail has missed the stud, you can expect it to surface eventually. When it does, simply remove it and use a fine sandpaper to rough-up or remove paint around the hole. Then, using a hammer, tap the wallboard making an indentation over the hole.
Once this is done, use a broad blade drywall taping knife to fill the indentation. Be sure to feather the edges to match the rest of the wall. Let the patch set overnight; then smooth the surface using light sandpaper.
Larger holes, like those made when a door knob breaks through a wall, can be repaired easily by using a repair kit like the Patch It™ Kit available from MARSHALLTOWN. This hollow wall damage repair kit leaves a flush, permanent patch in under 10 minutes.
