Concrete Tips and Techniques
Preparation
First, you must prepare the area where the concrete will be placed by removing the sod and all debris.
Spade up the area to a minimum depth of 4 inches. It's best to maintain a uniform depth. The ground within the area must be well compacted. Wet down the area and compact the ground to minimize future settling. It is also best to keep the ground moist until concrete is poured. Dry ground will draw moisture from the concrete too quickly and prevent proper curing.
